Allianz Arena and Camp Nou set for Champions League final showpieces

The Allianz Arena will stage the European club season's biggest match for the third time in 2028. It previously hosted the final in 2012, when Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on penalties, and again in 2025, when Paris Saint-Germain lifted the trophy for the first time.

The 2029 final will return to Camp Nou, giving Barcelona its third chance to host the Champions League showpiece.

Camp Nou last staged the final in 1999, when Manchester United produced one of the most dramatic comebacks in Champions League history. Two stoppage-time goals from Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer turned a 1-0 deficit against Bayern Munich into a 2-1 victory.

The selection of Barcelona comes a year before Spain co-hosts the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Portugal and Morocco.

Before Munich and Barcelona take centre stage, Madrid's Estadio Metropolitano, home of Atletico Madrid, will host the 2026-27 Champions League final on June 5.
