Ethan Pinnock joins Coventry from Brentford to boost defence

The 33-year-old joins Frank Lampard's side with Coventry looking to establish themselves in the Premier League after returning to the top flight for the first time in 25 years.

Pinnock said he was excited to begin the next chapter of his career with the Sky Blues.

"I'm really excited to join Coventry City and continue my footballing journey with this great club," he said.

"After 25 years, the club are back in the Premier League, and I know how much it must mean to everyone involved with the club and the supporters. I can't wait to be part of it."

Pinnock brings valuable Premier League experience to a Coventry defence that was exposed in their opening game of the season.

Lampard's side were beaten 3-0 by Arsenal on the opening weekend, highlighting the challenge facing the newly promoted club.

The defender will now hope to make an immediate impact as Coventry prepare to face Hull City at the Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday.
