Oswald Mutapa: CAF Champions League exit a "bitter pill to swallow" for Power Dynamos

The Zambian Champions lost 2-0 on aggregate to the Sudan Premier League side after home and away 1-0 losses in the First qualifying round.

Reflecting on the result, Mutapa admits he was disappointed but expects his team to learn from their mistakes.

"These are the type of games. We knew it is a knockout. Football is for the brave. Today we are out, tomorrow we set up to show that we are champions," he said on ZamFoot.

"Yes, we are out. It is a bitter pill to swallow because we needed to win today’s game to progress. We knew their strengths, but we also played to our own strengths.

"We haven't scored over the two legs. At this stage of the competition, if you don't score, you have problems, and that is what killed us in this game."

Mutapa added: "I was talking to the players and telling them that we have failed ourselves. We need to build from where we left off last season. But this is football.

"Yes, we are out. Are we going to start crying? No. We have to reflect. A championship team is seen when they are down and how they react after being eliminated from the Champions League.

“Are we going to show the hunger in the league? I still feel we are the best team.”
