Two Betway Premiership encounters fail to produce any goals

Chippa held at home by PSL newcomers

Chippa United will be disappointed after being held to a goalless draw by newly-promoted Milford FC at the Buffalo City Stadium in East London.

While scoreline may show no goals in contest but both teams were willing to throw numbers forward in search of the winner, but were let down by poor play in the final third.

Azola Tshobeni had an effort on target for the Chilli Boys but drew a smart save from visiting goalkeeper Lungile Nkosi.

Milford came into the contest towards the end of the first half but home shot-stopper Stanley Nwabali denied the PSL newcomers from breaking the deadlock.

Both teams will return to league action next weekend, with Chippa at home to Mamelodi Sundowns, and Milford FC hosting Richards Bay.

Sekhukhune and TS Galaxy fail to bring scoring boots in stalemate

Sekhukhune United and TS Galaxy were forced to share the spoils in the Betway Premiership contest at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The best opportunity of the first fell to the Rockets but Mpho Mvelase fluffed his lines trying to lob on-rushing goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi.

The home gave a much better showing in the second half with Lehlohonolo Mojela and Mokibelo Ramabu making a big impact off the bench, but it failed to translate into any goals.
