England continue to dominate Sri Lanka as hosts seal T20I series whitewash

The tourists suffered massive defeats in the opening two encounters and were not much better in Manchester as they were bowled out for a paltry 124 in 18.3 overs after the hosts opted to field at the toss.

Pathum Nissanka struck 36 at the top of the order while Kamindu Mendis scored 35 but there were no other good enough contributions as the England bowling attack ran riot through a poor visiting batting order.

England fast-bowling pair Sonny Baker and Jofra Archer both took two scalps as the Sri Lanka top-order cope with their soaring pace while spinner Will Jacks also took a couple of scalps.

The hosts then made a light work of reaching the 125-run target with Jos Buttler smashing an unbeaten 62 from just 32 balls while captain Harry Brook scored 33 as England knocked off the total with more than half the overs still to spare.

Bot teams will now prepare for the three-match ODI series that starts at  Chester-le-Street in Durham on Tuesday.
