Andoni Iraola confirms Liverpool forward Bradley Barcola available for Fulham clash

Barcola, who joined Liverpool from Paris Saint-Germain for 123 million pounds in August, was withdrawn during Wednesday's 2-1 victory after appearing to struggle late in the match.

However, Iraola confirmed the France international had suffered no injury and expects him to be available when Liverpool host Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.

"We still need to train this afternoon, but Barcola was just cramps," Iraola said. "He finished the game tired so we have to evaluate, but there's no injury. He should be available if everything goes normally."

There is less certainty over Cody Gakpo, who missed the Atletico match with an abductor problem.

"Cody, we will see," Iraola said. "He did not train yesterday, so today we will try with him and let's see if he's ready for tomorrow or we need to wait until the next one."

Iraola also provided an update on Hugo Ekitike, who remains some way from returning after suffering an Achilles injury in April.

The striker was included in Liverpool's 25-man Champions League squad, although his return is not expected imminently.

"Hugo, it's difficult with these long-term injuries. He's still far," Iraola said.

The Liverpool boss revealed there is a possibility Ekitike could feature in the final two Champions League group matches, but stressed that it was too early to make any firm prediction.

"It's a big injury," Iraola added. "But if we decided to put him there, it is because there's a hope and a realistic chance he could help us in January."
