Newcastle sweat on Amar Dedic fitness ahead of Leeds visit

The off-season arrival is doubtful after experiencing hamstring tightness during Newcastle's 1-0 EFL Cup win at Millwall, forcing him off at the interval. Although Jaissle does not believe the problem is particularly serious, the defender could be left out as a precaution.

Tino Livramento provides a ready-made replacement at right-back after successfully completing the second half against Millwall. The England international had previously struggled with a knee issue over the off-season but emerged from his cup appearance without complications.

Newcastle will definitely be without Dan Burn, Joelinton and Will Osula, with the trio expected to work towards their respective comebacks after the next international break.

Goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen is also unlikely to make the squad after twisting his ankle in training before Wednesday's cup tie.

The Magpies have made a solid start under Jaissle, collecting five points from their first three league matches. Their record matches Leeds' tally, while Newcastle also arrive after progressing in the EFL Cup.

Harvey Barnes could be a key attacking threat, having scored eight times in his last nine league appearances against Leeds.

Jaissle also has Anthony Elanga, Yoane Wissa, Anthony Gordon and Jacob Murphy available alongside Bruno Guimaraes.
