Ivory Coast winger Bazoumana Toure seals Newcastle switch from Hoffenheim

The Magpies confirmed the signing of the 20-year-old Ivory Coast international on Sunday, with British media reporting the transfer to be worth around 43 million pounds. Toure becomes Newcastle's second arrival of the transfer window after goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen.

Speaking after sealing the move, the exciting winger could not hide his delight at taking the next step in his career.

"I'm very, very happy to be here. It was my dream since I was young to play in the Premier League for a big team like Newcastle," Toure said in a club statement.

The highly-rated attacker joins Newcastle after an impressive spell with Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, where his pace, dribbling ability and eye for goal attracted interest from several top European clubs.

Toure also arrives on Tyneside with growing international experience. He earned his senior Ivory Coast debut in October last year before representing the Elephants at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making three appearances during the tournament.

Although Ivory Coast's campaign ended with a 2-1 defeat to Norway in the round of 32, the young winger continued to enhance his reputation on the international stage.

His arrival comes during a busy transfer window for Newcastle, who recently sanctioned Anthony Gordon's reported 80 million-euro move to Barcelona.

The club will now hope Toure can make a seamless transition to English football and become a key figure as they prepare for the new Premier League season.
