Ibrahima Konate has left the France squad after suffering a minor sprain to his right knee.
Man Utd defender Leny Yoro gets first France call-up
The Manchester United defender has been promoted from the Under-21 squad after Real Madrid centre-back Ibrahima Konate suffered a minor knee injury.
Konate has returned to Madrid for treatment, opening the door for Yoro to join the senior France squad.
The 20-year-old has made four appearances for United this season, starting the full matches against Sabah and Brighton. He also came off the bench against Ipswich Town and Everton.
Yoro has previously spoken about his ambition to represent France at senior level and admitted it would be a special moment if he achieved that goal.
"Of course, this is the dream for me," Yoro said last year. "The big dream for me and for every French player, I think. If you can reach it, this is something you can't explain, honestly.
"This is the dream of every child in France. So, if you can do it, that's pretty crazy."
The defender now has the opportunity to turn that ambition into reality after receiving his first senior call-up.
France face Turkey in their opening UEFA Nations League match on Friday, with further fixtures against Belgium and Italy to follow.
