"Dear God: I have no idea what's happening in my life right now, but I just want to say thank You for being with me in my highs and my lows. My life hasn't always been easy, but one thing I know: You have never left my side. You are my everything," Boniface wrote, as quoted by Pulse Sports Nigeria.
The timing of the post has attracted particular attention given the striker's difficult spell since returning to Leverkusen.
Boniface was expected to play an important role after recovering from a serious injury that disrupted his loan spell at Werder Bremen in 2025. However, his situation at Leverkusen has become increasingly complicated.
Despite showing positive signs during pre-season, the striker was left out of Leverkusen's UEFA Europa League squad and has subsequently slipped behind Patrick Schick and Christian Kofane in the attacking pecking order.
