Jacob Bridgeman's brilliant 61 carries him to victory at Biltmore Championship Asheville

The American started the day five strokes behind 54-hole leader Neal Shipley. Undeterred, he carded the lowest round of his PGA Tour career - a ten-under 61 - around a wet and easy-scoring The Cliffs at Walnut Grove course to earn his second career win.

Bridgeman leaned heavily on his red-hot putter as he rolled in no fewer than eight birdies and an eagle. 

But perhaps his most pressured putts were the par-savers in the 11th and 12th. He drained a 13-footer for par on the 11th, then went bunker-to-bunker on the next hole before sinking a 12-footer for par.

For good measure, Bridgeman rolled in three birdies to close on 26 under, two ahead of Ben James, who also shot a 61. Incredibly, JT Poston had a 25-foot putt for a 59 that slid past the cup.

Bridgeman grew up about an hour away from Asheville and had his parents, his wife's parents and plenty of other family members watching him claim the Sunday silverware.

"I think they wanted me to get a win in front of them," said the 26-year-old during the trophy presentation.

"I didn't think it would happen this soon. I'm just super pumped."
